Luce is definitely one of my favorite blog-finds, thanks to this place. I like the new song a lot, thanks for posting it.

I’ll have to see about Wagamama next time I go home. Sounds pretty worthwhile.

I saw the Foos at a club opening for Mike Watt in 1995, before the first record came out. I was 19. The club wasn’t allowed to promote who was in the Foos (or that Ed Vedder was there too, playing guitar for Watt). But everyone knew of course. The show was fantastic – I still remember the guitar tricks between Pat Smear and Grohl. Great stuff.

I saw them in Austin with the Chili Peppers. Good stuff! This post also got me thinking about their cover of “Darlin’ Nikki”.

I was always a fan of Peter Gabriel’s German work. Shock den Affen and Jetzt Kommt Die Flut or Spiel Ohne Grenzen. It puts a new twist on songs you already know.

Heather you rock. Not as much as this show, but it’s damn close. Thanks.

I heard back in the late 70″s that Bowie’s Jean Genie is about Iggy Pop…when you liasten to the lyrics it is not hard to believe it is true.

Also, heard that Stones wrote Rebel, Rebel and Bowie wrote Angel (his former wife) and they swapped songs……this may just be one of those rock rumors.

I was so glad to read this about the Foo Fighters. I don’t think that bloggers give them a whole lot of credit and I really believe they are a great band.

The first time I saw the Foos, I stumbled home with seriously bruised ribs from an extended foray into the mosh pit. Excellent.

The second time was in a big hanger type place in Manchester, their first big arena gig in the UK. They literally blew the roof off. Excellent.

The third time was in the same aircraft hanger in manchester. Dave Grohl drummed for a couple of songs, and I satisfied a lifelong ambition to see, well, Dave Grohl drumming. Excellent!

Seen the Foos three times now – once in a smallish venue and twice in a big aircraft hanger type place.

"I love the relationship that anyone has with music: because there's something in us that is beyond the reach of words, something that eludes and defies our best attempts to spit it out. It's the best part of us, probably, the richest and strangest part..."
—Nick Hornby, Songbook
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel."
—Hunter S. Thompson

Mp3s are for sampling purposes, kinda like when they give you the cheese cube at Costco, knowing that you'll often go home with having bought the whole 7 lb. spiced Brie log. They are left up for a limited time. If you LIKE the music, go and support these artists, buy their schwag, go to their concerts, purchase their CDs/records and tell all your friends. Rock on.
