Pearl Jam movies are so hot right now
[thanks to pearljamevolution for ripping/youtubing the video clips; that acoustic Lukin made me laugh out loud in its wonderfulness]
The new Pearl Jam tour DVD Immagine in Cornice which chronicles their scorchingly fabulous Italian shows from last summer (directed by Danny Clinch) will be released upon the salivating masses of PJ fans on Tuesday. My copy is somewhere in the mail in between Seattle and Colorado, according to the Ten Club, and I may try to attend what we fondly call a “dork gathering” of friends to watch this blessed film when it arrives in mailboxes all over the Colorado Springs/Denver/Boulder area.
However, for those unbelievably lucky saps living in “select cities” (Tulare but not Denver?) you get to go see an all-digital fancy schamncy movie theater premiere experience next week. I would love to see this movie on the big screen, since my speakers are just the built-in ones that came on the TV. I actually checked airfare to, like St. Louis and Vegas (but, uh, see previous post). For more information or to buy remaining tickets, see the D&E Entertainment page.

Also, the Into The Wild premiere was in L.A. last night, featuring a soundtrack by Ed Vedder (and is it just me or does Sean Penn look like he just fell off his barstool in that picture?). It opens ONLY in New York and L.A. this Friday, for those of you searching the movie listings fruitlessly. Apparently it will get wider release on October 12; I finally got the book from the library so I am preparing myself according to my philosophical principles (“always read the book before you see the movie”).
long time no talk heather, while i left the blogging world as a blogger, i’m still here and kicking. I ripped the audio from the Ryan Adams DVD Music In High Places and made it a nice little mp3 record out of it. what it? hope so! here ya go!

i watched IMMAGINE… a few days ago. and… hey, as a pearl jam fan i have many a bootleg of theirs and all the live dvds and still this one felt special… even ALIVE, one of the songs i have listened to the most in my life, moved me in a different way… clinch has a gift for finding suggestive shots, the band looks relaxed and confident (but for stone “the invisible man” gossard) and the italian atmosphere (and background: the pistoia duomo is an amazing place to record a show) just tops it… i hope you will enjoy it as much as i did. cheers!

so when are you going to put that BRMC interview up? I’m seeing them tonight open for the Kings of Leon and reading that interview might be a good precursor to hopefully an amazing show.

ya know, someone was telling me i wasn’t allowed to watch the movie before reading the book. so i got the book and was about to start on it, until it occurred to me, “this movie looks like it’s going to be REALLY good. and if i read this book and love it, there’s a great chance that i’ll come out of the movie thinking ‘yeah, but not as good as the book’ which could totally ruin the whole experience.”
but i figure if i watch the movie and love it, then it’s almost certain that i can read the book afterwards and love it equally as much. like this type of road only works one way (normally).
anyway, side note, the liner notes to the newly released deluxe edition of August and Everything After is some of the best writing i’ve read in a long time. all done by the man Duritz himself. it’s seriously a fantastic read.

I thought Sean looked just right in the picture. A little rough around the edges is quite the norm for Mr Penn. Now Ed, well he just looks all dolled up in comparison, so that may be throwin’ you.

Sean, you know I am usually a woman driven when it comes to transcribing interviews ASAP and I promise I am still working on the BRMC one. It’s great – long and thoughtful and a bitch to transcribe
So it will be up as soon as I can. I hope it’ll be worth the wait; I thought it was one of the best I’ve had the pleasure of doing yet.

FYI Penn and Vedder were just on Charlie Rose. You can see some of it if interested.
