Steady as I go to see the Raconteurs
Jack White and Brendan Benson’s side project/other band The Raconteurs have announced a limited run of tour dates next month, including one in San Francisco on April 23, right before Coachella. Same night as the reunited Verve’s first U.S. show in ten years. King-Solomon-like choices must be made.
The new Raconteurs album Consolers of the Lonely was recorded earlier this month, and in a superhuman feat of record mixery and pressing, it will be released this Tuesday [on Third Man/XL/Warner Brothers]. In celebration of all the coming gratification, I’ve been listening to some scorchingly good live Raconteurs — let’s share.

The Verve show would be great, but I’ve never heard a negative review of any Jack White performance. I’d go see the Raconteurs. Hopefully, they’ll play “Bang Bang” at that show.

On May 4th they’ll be at Jazz Fest, can’t wait to see them there! Hopefully the Joan Jett hairstyle will grow out.

apparently it was released accidentally on iTunes this week, though right now I don’t see it on the iTunes webshop… http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2008/03/rush_release_of_new_raconteurs_album.html

easy choice, heather.
the verve, simply because it will be a “you had to be there” show and the raconteurs will more than likely stay together longer!

I was checking to see if Web Sher left a comment on your post, like he did on mine.
What do you think that’s about? I just posted an open letter, asking WS what the deal is, but it looks like the RIAA is going to start getting super aggressive with mp3 blogs.
Are you worried? I’d appreciate it if you would have readers come to my post and comment–I really want to see what folks think about this, and I know WS is reading my blog regularly.
Here’s the post:

Trying to decide whether or not to see them at the Fillmore. I’ve got a gang of friends that want to go, but I’m a cheap bastard and not sure that I want to pay 45 bones…
